Sedona Sunrise is an amalgam of primal shapes (a sphere, cylinder and pyramid) and elemental materials (metal, glass, rock and wood), which represent the fundamental forces that permeate the area.

The internal view suggests a brilliant, early morning sunrise over a red rock formation at the edge of a cliff, surrounded by the still-dark nighttime sky. Using actual red rocks from the Sedona area, the formation is created and placed inside the mirror system and can be illuminated, achieving a totally new 3-D effect. By shifting your eye slightly, you can look around the rocks and below the edge of the cliff. The object cell itself is separately illuminated for nighttime viewing.

Sedona Sunrise is available only through Scherer Gallery and will be produced in a limited edition of 10 pieces. Sedona Sunrise measures 11" tall by 13" long, with 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" base. US$2,750.
