Will Smith's sculptures are best described in one word; soothing. Water and kaleidoscopes have a calming effect on all who take the time to view them. In this marriage, Smith has created a sculpture of elegance and beauty, combined with the tranquil movement of trickling water.

In the Fountain of Aah's, Will incorporates two kaleidoscope mirror systems into the design. On one side you will find an equilateral mirror system, whereby the other is a more complex image created by the 30-60-90 degree mirror-system. They are found in the tubes facing inward, directed at the revolving sphere. As the water propels the sphere into motion, the kaleidoscope images move gracefully from one into the next. From either side, the images are truly spectacular.

The Fountain of Aah's has two designs. A free-standing fountain and a table top design. Each design is available in brass, copper or rust finish. The table-top base measures 18" x 18", with the cube measuring 10" x 10". Each tube has a 2-inch diameter. Overall height is 20 1/2" on the table top, with the freestanding fountain standing approximately 5 feet in viewing height with a base dimension of 20" x 20". There is an internal light source to illuminate the sphere. Two electrical outlets are needed - one for the pump and one for the light. We recommend plugging the pump into a timer so that you will effortlessly enjoy your wonderful sculptural fountain all the time. The Fountain of Aah's is quiet. There is little to no sound from the water as it cascades over the sides.

The Spheres
David Rosenfeldt has been a glass blower for nearly two decades. During the last 15 years David has focused on kaleidoscopic imagery through his own unique blown glass kaleidoscopes. However, nationally recognized as a master marble artist, David continues to pursue this childhood novelty turned art-form/collectible as it relates to kaleidoscope illusions.

Rosenfeldt's spheres are perfect for the Smith's Fountain of Aah's for many reasons. Since David understands the optical principals behind the kaleidoscope, he pays close attention to the surface design of each of his spheres. Combining exciting colors with dichroic glass the optical effects are stunning. Additionally, Rosenfeldt's spheres are perfectly round, easily propelled into motion through the gentle flow of the water.

There are three aspects to Rosenfeldt's spheres. The Mosaic, the Spiral and the H2Orb. Each is aptly named for the design found on the surface of each. David begins each sphere with a base color then builds up the adornment of dichroic colors on the surface.
